Poulan chainsaw wood shark 1950 experts needed

need some help with poulan chainsaw 14" woodshark 1950.
i was having trouble with gas line vibrating off primer bulb. i installed new lines which it had 2 different size lines, now i can not get it to start or even pop with the choke pulled. you can smell gas and i have pulled plug and its wet with gas. i clean plug and install and still the same thing.

can someone tell me how to adjust screws on side of chainsaw. how many turns in or out . it has one phillips head screw and 2 smaller screws with plastic that limit how much you can turn it, what is the general setting.

i am thinking i just need to make adjustment to get it started.

is there a wrong way to hook fuel line to primer bulb, the bulb has one connector longer then the other. the fuel line has 2 different size diameters.

thanks.

I don't know (and have never had much luck with that brand). But it's widely sold, so you should be able to get a manual.

You bring up a point: Where you're force-fitting a non-rigid plastic tube onto a plastic nipple (too small for a clamp), does anybody know of an adhesive that works on these materials?

Very small nylon tie-wraps are the best thing for this situation.

Sounds like your plug is not firing. Had a mechanic tell me once right or wrong on small engines he has them go bad with the engine getting flooded one time. I would check for spark at plug tip. You could have pulled wire while working on the gas lines or done as others (not me Smile ) not realize it was switched off or at least not fully on.

i pulled spark plug and with plug put back in wire and holding close to engine i see spark.

i was hoping to reset the carb screws to control some of the flooding.

I am not sure about the poulan but for a generic chainsaw
I would think that the two small screws are mixture controls. One idling and the other fast running. The large screw would probably be the throttle stop or idling speed contol. If the idling mixture control is out of adjustment it will be hard to start. Usual thing is screw it right in and then screw out one and a half or two turns then adjust when hot and running. If it has a plastic cap these should be removeable.
If this fails you should be able to start it by holding the trigger throttle slightly open with one hand while you pull the starter with the other. If you flood it, and you have flooded it if the plug is wet, remove the plug, dry it and spin the motor over a few times with the throttle wide open and choke off to clear the excess gas from the cylinder and start again. Wd40 or rp7 into the throat of the carby may help to start it also. go easy on the choke also.
